Ingredients

      • 2 slices bacon,
        cut into 1/2″ pieces (optional)
      • 2 tbsp. reserved bacon fat
        or extra-virgin olive oil
      • 1 lb. green beans,
        trimmed and halved 10 cloves garlic
        quartered 1″ piece ginger
      • minced 1/2 tsp. crushed
        red pepper flakes (optional)
      • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground
        black pepper
      • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground
        white pepper
      • 1 tsp. rice wine vinegar
      • 1 1/2 tbsp. hoisin sauce
      • 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
      • 2 green onions
      • sliced 2 tsp. toasted sesame oil
      • Sesame seeds, for garnish

    Stir Fry Green Bean Recipe

     

    Method

      • If using bacon, in a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until golden and fat is mostly rendered, 5 minutes. Transfer bacon to a bowl and reserve 2 tablespoons bacon fat in pan.
      • Add in green beans, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) and frequently stir until beans are beginning to blister, 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in black and white pepper.
      • Stir in vinegar, hoisin, and oyster sauce until evenly combined, then return bacon (if using) to skillet and add green onions. Cook, frequently stirring, until green onions soften. Remove pan from heat and stir in sesame oil.
      • Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
