  • 350-400ml
  • 1 banana
  • 1 scoop of your
    usual protein powder
    (or use unflavoured whey/pea protein powder)
  • 1-2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 Tbsp maple syrup

      This is a great recipe if you are looking for a tasty post workout smoothie, or simply want to spoil yourself without breaking the post-Christmas diet. Bananas are loaded with potassium, which is necessary for rehydration post workout, Bananas also contain complex carbs, as well as a good amount of quick release sugars. Cocoa powder is rich in Magnesium, which helps to relax muscles post exercise. I have added protein powder here to make it into the perfect post workout smoothie.

      Method

      • Add all ingredients into your blender and blend at high speed until your desired consistency is achieved.
      • If you like your smoothie cooler, freeze the banana (cut into pieces) before using, or add a couple of ice cubes before blending. Enjoy immediately!
