Ingredients

  • 800g frozen or fresh mixed berries
    (strawberries will make for
    a super sweet crumble,
blackberries will result in a slightly
    tarter crumble)
  • 5-6 Tbsp brown sugar
  • For the crumble:

  • 75g butter (for a vegan option,
    choose sunflower oil)
  • 75g white flour (can also be
    gluten-free flour)
  • 100g ground almonds
  • 60-70g sugar (the almonds give
    it natural sweetness,
    but add sugar for extra
    sweetness)

Warning – this is a delicious recipe that is still a healthy choice. Berries are in season, and they are powerhouses of nutrients to build up your immune system. The vivid colours are actually phytonutrients that support the allowed berries to ripen in the autumn.

      Method

      • Put the berries into a pan with 4-5 tablespoons of water

      • Mix all ingredients for the crumble to form a lovely crumbly texture.
      • When your fruit has reached the desired consistency, add it to a deep-bottomed ceramic oven dish.
