Sea swimming is our new drug in this country. So many of us took up this new exhilarating pastime during Covid. Cold water is good for you; a daily dip primes your immune, lifts the spirits, and is simply good fun. I have dipped daily in the Irish Sea for years, and while I swear by the beneficial effects of it on my body, I can get very cold post-swim. Here is a lovely warming tea you can prepare ahead of the dip to sip as you’re getting dressed and looking back at the sea

    Method

        • Start by boiling the water and brewing the black tea bags.
        • After a few minutes, take them out and discard them.
        • Pour the black tea into a warmed flask, and add the orange, cinnamon, star anise, pepper and honey.
        • Close it up well, grab a few mugs to share with your friends and enjoy after your swim.
