Club Rules
We want everyone to have a great time whilst using the club. To make that happen we need a little help from you, our members, and guests. Please check out the guidance below and make sure you’re doing all you can to keep the atmosphere fun, the faces around you friendly, the spaces around you safe and the club easy to fit into. Please note that the rules pertaining to Kids, Swimming Pool, and Health Suite areas apply specifically to our family clubs or clubs where these amenities are available.
Guests
We love welcoming new faces into our clubs. To make sure we look after all our guests properly, unless you have a guest pass, all guests will need to pay for their visit and provide full details to access the club. ID must be shown and under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult in the club. All guests must follow our club rules and safety guidelines. We reserve the right to refuse admission.
Kids
We love welcoming your little ones and invite them to enjoy the pool with you and specific fitness classes during children’s hours. Under 16’s need to be accompanied by an adult.
Best Behaviour
Be considerate and look after yourself whilst you’re enjoying the club. If another member or staff consider that your conduct goes against our guidelines, or endangers yourself or others, you will be asked to stop or leave by a member of our team. If you ignore a warning, you will be asked to leave, either temporarily or permanently. We don’t like doing this, so we’d ask you to be reasonable so we can all enjoy being here together.
Swimming Pool
- We know swimming is exciting, but for your own safety, please avoid running, jumping or diving in the pool area. If you’re asked to stop doing something by our staff, it’s so you don’t hurt yourself or others, so please listen.
- We politely ask that adults and children only wear conventional swimwear in the pool. Also, babies and toddlers who are not yet toilet trained should wear an aqua nappy to avoid any unwelcome accidents.
- Hygiene: please take a shower before you swim and do not swim if you have any signs of any illness or anything contagious avoid the pool if you have verrucae, athlete’s foot etc.
- We’ll ask you nicely to refrain from using large inflatables, buggies and any other items that are considered to be impacting the enjoyment of the pool by other members. Also please keep your mobile phones in your locker.
- Check out the pool timetable so you know when different sessions are happening, when the pool may be closed for lessons etc.
- Pool safety. One adult can mind up to 3 children. Under 12’s must have an adult in the water with them. 12 to 15’s need to have an adult (18+) present in the pool area. For changing, once a child reaches the age of 8,we ask that they use their own sex changing rooms. And please follow the pool area guidelines displayed.
Fitness Areas
- Proper fitness footwear is essential for your safety and the hygiene of the club.
- Wipe down equipment after use, rerack any weights or other equipment you’ve taken out where they belong and make sure you haven’t left any of your belongings behind.
- Exercise safely: please do not use a piece of equipment if you are unsure how to use it; if you proceed to use the equipment, it’s on the understanding that you are taking responsibility for your own safety. If you don’t know how to use it, ask one of our friendly instructors to help or read the instructions on the machine. We strongly recommend that everyone books in to meet a trainer when they join.
Health Suite areas
- Please read and comply with the health and safety information displayed in this area, for your own well being and that of others.
- Please take a quick shower before and after using the area.
- Please refrain from shaving, exfoliating, applying oils or doing anything that is best kept to your own bathroom for hygiene reasons.
Phones & Photography
Mobile phones are prohibited for use in the changing rooms, spas, and swimming pool areas. Please respect other members right to privacy and to work out without being recorded or photographed. Please don’t take photos or record videos that contain the personal data of others.
Lockers
Keep your belongings safe in a locked locker whilst you work out. And then please remember to take everything away with you afterwards. Belongings left in lockers overnight or left around the club will be removed and disposed of.
Lost property
Everyone mislays things from time to time, so we’ll keep anything valuable left behind for 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time to come and get it from reception. When the two weeks have elapsed, we’ll no longer have the space in the club to keep unclaimed belongings. We do not keep certain items for hygiene reasons.

You will only be permitted to use the facilities at whichever of the Gym Plus clubs you have joined as a member of (the “Club”) within the scope of your membership category. These Terms and Conditions apply to your membership and use of the Club. The Club reserves the right to reject any application for membership for any reason in its sole discretion. No reason need be given by the Club for such rejection.
Duration:
When you join Gym Plus, you are agreeing to remain a member for a period of 3 calendar months (“the Commitment Period”), subject to extension if placed on freeze. Monthly memberships will continue to renew automatically after the Commitment Period end date. If you choose to join the Club by paying your Commitment Period membership fee in advance, your Club membership will terminate automatically on the expiry of the Commitment Period. An email informing you when your membership is due for renewal will be sent to all 12-month upfront members 1 month prior to the date that the membership is due for renewal. This email will include details regarding the cost of renewal and the renewal date.
Fees and charges:
The Club will set the level of fees and reserves the right to change the level of fees from time to time at its sole discretion. The following fees prevail:
a) Membership Fee: The level of membership fees shall be determined according to the type and
category of membership.
b) Joining Fee: A joining fee is payable as specified in your membership form.
c) Guest User Fees: A guest user fee is payable as a one-off fee for a guest to use the Club and its facilities on one occasion.
If you sign up for a membership online and change your mind, there is a cooling off period of 14 days from your join date by which to cancel your membership. If you no longer wish to stay a member and have not used the Club, you may cancel your membership with immediate effect by emailing membership@gymplus.ie and your payment will be refunded. If you have used the Club, we reserve the right to charge you a reasonable fee for your gym usage during this period. In all other instances, Membership Fees, Joining Fees, and Guest User Fees are not refundable.
We will inform you if your bank fails to make a payment from your account. You may settle the balance at the Club’s reception, or online through the Gym Plus app, or on the client portal. If the debt remains outstanding, we will apply to your bank for payment again throughout the month at various intervals. If this is not paid your debt will remain on the Gym Plus system. As a result of this, you will be unable to use or re-join Gym Plus without settling this debt.
If you choose to pay your membership fees monthly, we only offer debit or credit card recurring payments. You can amend your card details 72 hours in advance on the Gym Plus app or the client portal link. It is your responsibility to update your account to reflect any changes. We may at any time engage the services of a third-party payment processing agent or platform, such as Stripe, to process payments.
All Club Membership Fees and other fees are reviewed periodically. We will give you at least 1 month’s notice of any changes to fees.
Suspension of Membership:
You may request suspension (freeze) for a continuous period of at least 1 month and a maximum of 3 months upon 15 days written notice to the Club. You understand a monthly charge of €10 will be charged by the Club during the suspension period(s). Any suspension that occurs during the Commitment Period will result in an extension of the Commitment Period for the same amount of time as the suspension was in effect. A member can only freeze their membership for a maximum of three months in any 12 month period. Should you request to cancel your membership while it is on suspension, the suspension will be removed, and your cancellation will be processed in accordance with the Club’s standard 30 days notice period.

b) if any part of your membership fee remains unpaid 30 days after its due date for payment; or
c) if you provide us with details which you know to be false when applying for membership and the false declaration would have reasonably affected our decision to grant you membership.
Termination by you:
You may terminate these Terms and Conditions in the following circumstances:
a) You may give written notice at any time during your commitment period to terminate your contract at the end of
your commitment period, provided that the written notice is given at least 30 days in advance of the end of you commitment period. If there are fewer than 30 days remaining before the end of your commitment period, your contract will terminate at the end of the 30 days from the date you provide your written notice.

Membership is not transferable and any member who allows his/her/their access code to be used by another person is in serious breach of these Membership Terms and Conditions and will entitle the Club to terminate membership without notice. If a membership fob is lost, it should be reported to the Club. The Club reserves the right to charge an administration fee for the provision of a replacement membership fob.
Club Rules:
The Club may amend the Club Rules from time to time in order to ensure the health and safety of members.
Opening Hours:
The Club’s opening hours, as amended from time to time, are displayed at the Club reception.

Limitation of Liability:
The Club will not accept liability for any loss, damage to or theft of money, valuables or other personal property of members and/or guests. Property stored in lockers provided by the Club is stored at the owner’s risk and no liability for loss or damage thereto will be accepted by the Club. Lockers may be hired for monthly or yearly use for a fee based on the Club’s fees in place from time to time. If a locker is not hired, then it may only be used on a daily basis and must be emptied by the user before leaving the Club.

You may request access at any time to a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Any such request should be submitted to us in writing and sent to dataprotection@gymplus.ie. We will need to verify your identity in such circumstances and may request more information or clarifications from you if needed to help us locate and provide you with the personal data requested.
There is usually no charge applied to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive, we may charge a reasonable fee. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
Right of Restriction.

This right, however, will not apply where we are required to process personal data in order to comply with a legal obligation or where the processing of this information is carried out for reasons of public interest in the area of public health. - for profiling to the extent it relates to direct marketing; and

Should this occur, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes unless doing so is justified by a compelling legitimate ground as described above. For more information about our marketing practices, please see the Marketing Communications section below.
Data Portability
Where we process your personal data by automated means (i.e., not on paper) and this processing is based on your consent or required for the performance of a contract between us, you have the right to request from us a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, to request that we transmit your personal data in this format to another controller.
Profiling
Profiling is an automated form of processing personal data often used to analyse or predict personal aspects about an individual person. This could relate to a person’s performance at work, economic situation, health, personal preferences, reliability, behaviour, location, or movements. An example of this would be where a bank uses an automated credit scoring system to assess and reject a loan application.
You have the right to be informed if your personal data will be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated process, including profiling, where that decision impacts on your legal rights. There are some exceptions to this rule, where, for example, the decision is necessary in connection with the performance of a contract between us, is authorised by law or where you have given your explicit consent to this automated processing. In this case, however, we do not engage in profiling or automated processing for profiling purposes.
Personal Rights
The rights described in this section are personal rights and are exercisable only by the individual person (or data subject) concerned.
Marketing Communications
General
We will not use your data to send marketing communications to you about promotions, competitions, updates and new products or services that may be of interest to you unless we have your permission to do so.

To object or if you change your mind at any later time, you can withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data for such marketing purposes by contacting us at dataprotection@gymplus.ie. You may also opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by selecting the unsubscribe option when you receive an electronic marketing communication from us. The withdrawal of your consent will not impact upon the lawfulness of processing based on your consent prior to the withdrawal.

By taking out a membership, filling in a contact form on our Site or using a mobile app we provide to you, you agree and accept that we may gather, process, store and/or use the personal data submitted in the way we outline in this Policy. If you are under the age of 16, Gym Plus will not collect or process your details unless we have also received the consent of an adult who has parental responsibility for you. To the extent any processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time unless by doing so you prevent us from delivering the Service set out in your membership agreement.
