Cinnamon Baked Christmas Pears

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, halved and centres removed 
  • 4 tbsp chopped walnuts and hazelnuts 
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup 
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180C. In a small bowl, mix the chopped nuts, cinnamon and maple syrup. 

Step 2

I like using the pears with their peel on, but if you prefer you can peel them before you place them in a baking dish, cut side up. 

Step 3

Spoon the nut mixture into the holes where the pear centres were, drizzle with added maple syrup if necessary. 

Step 4

Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until they’re tender. Serve 2 halves per portion … with or without vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
