Official National Fitness Day Event Comes To Your Local Club

National Fitness Day At Gym Plus

Gym Plus is delighted to be taking part in National Fitness Day 2017. Sponsored by Ireland Active and the event happens on 29th September, using the has tag #fitnessdayIRL.

Our event is “Feel Good Friday” an event that takes indoor cycling outside (and around the world) in aid of Cycle Against Suicide. We’ll be pedalling for fun, for fitness and to raise awareness of mental health support services at all 5 of our clubs,.

Also, the event is open to all. You don’t have to be an expert cyclist or even a regular bike user to take part. Just hop on one of the bikes outside the club for 20-30 minute. You’ll contribute your distance towards our total, which we’re hoping will take us round the world!

Feel Good Friday is not just for our regular members. You and anyone you know can take part. It’s free and everyone is welcome, even if you don’t think you want to cycle. Supporters are just as welcome! Just register you interest on the official event page.

About Cycle Against Suicide

We are supporting the charity Cycle Against Suicide. This initiative started by Irish entrepreneur, Jim Breen, as a result of his appearance on RTE’s Secret Millionaire programme. The Cycle’s main objective is to raise awareness of the considerable help and supports that are available for anyone battling depression, self harm, at risk of suicide or those bereaved by suicide.

The Cycle creates a very tangible and practical opportunity for people who want to help support those who are affected by suicide. Together, shoulder to shoulder, we can Break the Cycle of Suicide in Ireland!

The 2018 Main Cycle event takes place between Sunday, April 28th and Monday, May 7th. So, you have plenty of time to practice and train up for it, starting with a stint at a Feel Good Friday event.

It’s OK not to feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help.
