What to expect
Although the suspension trainer might look intimidating at first, rest assured the exercises you will perform using it are not difficult. In a typical class, you will do a quick warm-up before taking your place at the suspension trainer anchor. You will then be shown how to adjust the straps to positions you are comfortable with, giving you a range of options to make each exercise more or less challenging for yourself.
The Gym Plus class instructor will teach you how to perform exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups and rows using the straps while being suspended. You will learn how to utilise the suspension to develop strength with your own body weight. It is a whole new experience doing these exercises while suspended but you will leave each class feeling more energised and enthusiastic about returning for the next challenge.
What are the benefits?
A suspension training class will give you a full-body workout. It is especially good for those looking to increase strength in their core but it does target all of your muscle groups. It has also been proven to improve the flexibility and mobility of those who took part regularly.
Who’s it for?
Beginners are very welcome in a suspension training class. It is suitable for all ages and fitness abilities as the straps can be adjusted for beginners. This is the ideal class for anyone who wants a moderately intense workout in a short amount of time.
