Ingredients

  • 4 rice or corn cakes
  • 4 tsp nut butter
    (ideally almond or
    peanut, not cashew)
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • A little honey and
    cinnamon to sprinkle over
    the apple slices
  • 5 pitted medjool dates,
    cut into 4 quarters each lengthways
  • Small handful of
    mixed nuts or walnuts
  • Opened easy peeler,
    some blueberries or sliced melon
  • 3-4 oat cakes

Be prepared by being able to offer your young student a healthy snack plate to take to their room with t hem when studying. The brain soaks up an enormous amount of energy during study, and it wants to be fuelled continuously. Choose complex carbs, natural sugars, plant-based proteins and healthy fats.

    Method

    Take a large dinner plate, decorate all snacks in an appetizing manner. The apple slices can be served on their own drizzled with a little honey and cinnamon. Serve with 1l cold fresh water (the brain also needs water to function!). This should keep your student going for a couple of hours …
